#youshouldread: Worst Foundations

Among my research after hearing that M.A.C. is ghastly for your skin (from former employees! & makeup artists)

"I am a makeup artist and HATE MAC. My clients have bad reactions b/c they use talc and cornstarch in their makeup. I thought MAC's was like tar on the lips."

 I stumbled across these articles:

Top 13 Worst Foundations

No. 9: Benefit Some-Kind-A Gorgeous, ($29USD)

I'm not surprised that these made the list. I hate to sound like a prestige brand snob but most of these are sold in your local drugstore. Sometimes it's worth paying more money to have a better product. For those of you drugstore princesses, let this be a word of friendly advice for you. Rommel, CoverGirl & Physician's Formula may not be your best bet when it come to foundation. They were all on the list more than once!

Top 7 Worst Powders

Laura Mercier made the list not once but twice! That's the last thing I expected to see. A lot if people referred to is as over-priced.

Review: Physicians Formula Felt Tip Eye Marker

I had a coupon for Physicians Formula. Seeing how I'm the coupon  lady & needed mascara, what better time than that to try theirs? It was a great purchase. I close Ultra Black since my eyes are really dark brown. You apply it the same way you would with a felt tip marker. The line can range from a thin, fine tip to a thick, bold line. It dries quickly. The only thing that would make it perfect is being water proof. I love the variety it brings to the table.

Halloween 2010: Hair & Makeup fit for a Ringleader

Driving to Work

The way I did it for the club

For the overall makeup, I knew that I wanted to have the red lips- that was a given. For the eyes, I wasn't sure whether to go with a smoky eye for a candy colored eyelid. I went with the smoky eye because I was afraid that paired with the red lips, the candy colored would make me look more circus... Like a clown. Luckily, I have a smoky pallette in my Caboodle so the challenge was the lips. I had to find a red lipcolor in CVS because my job screwed up my schedule so that I couldn't go to MAC like I wanted to. So I started looking through the brands and after ending up with a red sticky hand, I just ended up getting the color from the collection Beyonce endorses.

For the hair, I wanted ringlet curls, but since I'm pretty much only handy with a flat iron I ended up side sweeping it into a slicked back ponytail with a sidepart. That worked for Saturday night because it was hot as  hell in the club. On Sunday, to work I attempted to curl it with my sister's curling iron but that also proved to be an epic fail. Lol at least my hair was decent enough to be let down.
