OOTD: Miami uniform

I swear, I live in one of the hottest cities in the continental US. it's difficult some days to get vamped up & put on all the trimmings because it's so damn hot out. My failsafe

Review: Physicians Formula Felt Tip Eye Marker

I had a coupon for Physicians Formula. Seeing how I'm the coupon  lady & needed mascara, what better time than that to try theirs? It was a great purchase. I close Ultra Black since my eyes are really dark brown. You apply it the same way you would with a felt tip marker. The line can range from a thin, fine tip to a thick, bold line. It dries quickly. The only thing that would make it perfect is being water proof. I love the variety it brings to the table.

Review: Milani Runway Eyes

Drugstore makeup is what starts us all out. It's simple. It's easy. You dont have to cry if you lose the item & you certainly don't wind up crying at the register either. Milani is one of my favorites. They have bold, vibrant colors. I was a frequent customer with their nail polish. Anything in my collection that is not OPI or Essie ods a Milani color. I have purchased lip glosses & eyeliners from them but this is my first eyeshadow palette. The Runway Eyes collection features a six color palette that equips you with several different looks. This is perfect for & I will be taking this on vacation. I saw several that I was interested in trying, but chose to buy the Glamourous Gems palette since green & brown are my go to colors for any occasion. I believe this palette could look good on anyone that tries it due to the earthy tones.

Ridiculous Deal: VS Pink Swim Separates for little & nothing.

These swimsuits were a last minute decision while walking through Pink. It dawned on me- VSSemi includes Pink!
Looking at buckets of swimsuits right for the picking, I dove through the S bottoms first as I knew that would be harder to find. When I looked at the price tag sewing prices like 5.99 & 7.99 on the swim separates, I knew I would try for more than one. The girl working in Pink told me that she only wears black bottoms & just buys different tops for her swim collection. I thought that was interesting. I've thought about wearing two non matching solids, but never pattern & solids. That creativity should've  dawned on me ages ago since I need to be beach ready 85% of the year here in Miami. Scoring two solid black bottoms (one being a low rise string bikini, the other appeared to be the bottoms to a bandeau style swim set), I could now look for tops. Since I've never really had the simple black bikini, I looked for & found a medium top, which finally fits bc I lost weight. I wanted a fun top too & found the cheetah one in the large section. For swim separates for 32$ in VS made me glad I didnt pay more than that just for one pair of bottoms. I win.

Review: SmashBox Lash DNA

A trip to Macy's allowed me to come across SmashBox's cosmetics stand. I have raved in the past about their mascara- that I tried thanks to the Sephora mascara sampler. I inquired out of curiosity to see how much a full sized Lash DNA. The sales woman informed me that it had been discontinued so I realized that I should purchase since I might not have that opportunity again. I bought a tube of Jet Black.

This mascara is amazing. Not only does it give lashes a thicker, lengthened appearance, but it doesn't flake. You're also able to accomplish daytime & nighttime looks. This mascara is a great choice from the higher end. I'd reccommend it to anyone.

Review: Victor & Rolf's Flowerbomb

A good friend of mine, one who vicariously enabled my spending habit in between classes in college, introduced me to this scent. She showed it to me one day when we were walking through Saks on the hunt for Christian Loubuitons.
When my boyfriend got deployed, I wanted my letters to be connected to a scent that I would wear the next time hesaw me. Scent recognition. This scent is so distinct. It has sweet notes with light hints of a floral nature.
On one of our other shopping trips we came across a travel sized FlowerBomb set. At the time it was an affordable $25. Anyone could afford that to sample it. God bless Sephora.

Ridiculous Deal: Victoria's Secret Semi Annual spoils Part One.

I swung by the Victoria's SemiAnnual to see if I could find anything worth merit since their store card was burning a hole in my wallet. Needless to say in two trips to VS my card was maxed out. This is the equivalent to having a crackhead going down to the trap. I need professional help. Having said that, here are the spoils of trip one.
I have spa days from time to time so the 3 for 11$ bubble bath was worth it. I'll have enough to last until the next VSSemi in January. Vanilla Lace (2), Strawberries & champagne (1) were surprisingly on sale... Two of my favorites. At $3 each I couldn't leave them there. They looked lonely.
Eau de toilette in Costco size from Victoria's costs an arm & leg or your first born child. I walked away with a giant Love Rocks eau for a grand total of $10.  It usually retails $45. Score.
Holiday sets usually go on sale during this time as well. Though I couldn't get a jumbo sized bottle of Bombshell (my favorite eau from their collection) I did find a stocking stuffer size, perfect for my purse, and the box set also came with a lotion that TSA would have no problem with.
I also purchased four swimsuits separates that I will do a separate post on. But, i'll have you know the retail value is worth more than what I paid for all this.
That about wraps up trip one to my downward spiral of debt.

Ridiculous Deal: Victoria's Secret Semi Annual spoils Part Two.

*pictured: Noir Love Me body splash, Vixen body splash, makeup brushes, VS Beauty lipstick in Wine.
Visit two was pleasant due to the fact that VSSemi is 10$ cheaper for Gemini & Capricorns. I fall under the former. I reevaluated what I really needed at that point... being a colored lipstick & makeup brushes.

I found some brushes that i'll probably end up leaving in my suitcase. The quality is nothing to rave about... My EcoTools brushes do a much better job & are environmentally friendly- and they were cheaper! The quality on these brushes make this a sad case of retail regret.

I've mentioned in prior searches for lipstick & lip color that I literally go to the end of the spectrum to choose a color, and this case was no exception. I saw what looked like a deep dark purple color that comes across as a vibrant fuschia on me. Sold. I bought it. Everyone always compliments it when worn.

The body splashes are both discontinued the the world of VS. Vixen (the pink one) is fruity. Noir: LoveMe (the clear one w the black top) is clean scent.

I think I might just check the merit of this coup.

Ridiculous Deal: Birch box

B turned me on to this. I’ll be receiving it soon a definitely blogging about it.
Birch Box, a sampler paradise. (We all know how crazy I am about sampling.) The basic concept is to received things that you've never tried in the form of a monthly 'grab bag' where you are privy to the products until you open the package.

The only thing that makes me apprehensive about subscribing is the fact that they may not take under consideration that opening the box each month to beige samples may make this a waste of money.
They say that it is 'customized for you' but I'm not sure how much I trust that. I just put myself on a waitlist for the gifts so we'll see how that goes. Maybe I'll use my Secret Santa money to get a 3 month subscription.

OOTD: Fuschia & Lace

There are two things I've been dying to put into play... One being this shirt I scored from G by Guess for 12$ USD, and the other a fuschia lipstick that is too bold to wear with color by way of VS Semi Annual. I chose to steer away from color because I'd start looking too festive & nobody wants that. I figured that Monday morning was as good a time as any to debut my latest wardrobe acquisitions. I wore black pants so that I didnt look too casual with a sleeveless top in the office. The pumps I wore had a white snakeskin relief & were ivory like my top. Makeup was kept simple not to overpower my lipstick.

OOTD: The only floral i'll ever wear

I'm not a fan of white. Never have been seeing as my makeup leaves orange baseball field residue on any white fabric that gets within my face's force field. Having a shirt with little orange fingerprints all over it by noon makes me look like a dirty girl-and not in a good way.

This shirt, from Target, hasn't been seen in this blog for a while, partially because it was so challenging to pair. I think I finally got it right though.

I decided to make my hourglass work for me. I pulled the only pair of khaki shorts I own, courtesy of Forever XXI, and decided tio wear them with this top, throwing a belt (also Forever XXI) on top to create a waist- 86ing the original problem. I also decided that I would wear my BCBG espadrilles (not shown) with it to stay with that light, summery feeling.

If I marry in a church.

Oleg Cassini probably had me in mind when he designed this dress. He knew he'd make a killing off of me.

I've never been the fairytale princess type- I'm still in the whole cinder soot, house cleaning part of my story. This dress was the dream that appeared to me in Davids Bridal, back when my sister was fitting for her happy ending. Poufy dresses never did it for me since I'm a very simple girl. But when I saw this, something in me shifted. I don't know if it was the detailing on the bodice or the ivory color that got me. Perhaps it was the delivery of the mannequin (that at ground level stood shoulder to shoulder with my 4'10 frame), all I know is how I saw myself walking down a garden or church aisle clad in this gown and having my guests dazzled by my beauty.

If I marry on the beach

I always envisioned getting married barefoot on the beach. When I saw this dress, I knew this is the one i'd choose. I saw it while walking through Macy's with a friend of mine. A mannequin's waifish stature showcased it in the forefront of the Jessica McClintock collection. I was immediately in love with it & before I knew it, I was in the fitting room trying it on. I've always seen myself wearing ivory, even when I was a virgin. The color just looks better on me- white makes me look like a cloud. The material is satin- which hands down is my choice when looking for a formal dress. I swear even if I get married on the court, i'd still wear it.

Nailed: Essie color for the week

When I purchased this color (along with 3 other spa friendly polishes) I didn't realize it would become one of my favorites in my home salon. Its called Lapis of Luxury. This color is not only vibrant but its cool hue looks great on my skin tone & doesn't have the issue of clashing with any of my open toed shoes.

OOTD: Frills & things.

This is something I don't usually do but I swear this shirt spoke to me. As I mentioned while talking about tanktops, I love, love, love racerback tanks. Being all of 28F, I need all the support I can get. The thing I don't usually do, especially when its something I'll choose to wear to the office, is buy something I cannot wear a jacket with- since my place of employment is the temperature of a meat locker.

I saw this in my Midtown Ross & was slightly intrigued upon coming across it. I only own one other article of clothing that I run into this same dilemma with- a zippered racerback from ForeverXXI. Pieces like these are far & few between- here meaning it's rare that I've seen a shirt worth going without a jacket simply because it was designed the right way. Not only did the back art of this tank snag me, but the colors used drew me in as well. I went through this monocromatic phase in my late high school, early college experience where my wardrobe only displayed black & shades of grey so this hit a homer for me. it's a simple, yet elegant piece. Its just a shame its so detailed bc I'd wear it more often.

iWant: The Kors that got away.

There is a Ross in Midtown Miami that I'm ecstatic to say I live near to. They have all types of designer merchandise at ridiculously low prices. I swear, it baffles me. 7 for all Mankind jeans, Juicy Couture, Steve Madden & more. Upon visiting in search of an Easter outfit, I came across these shoes. They were $80 which my budget didn't allow for so sadly they were left behind :/

New: Wedging it in for Summer.

I don't know if I've expressed how much I love wedges. Being all of 4'10, I can't get enough of artificial height. I've raved back & forth about the Ross @ Midtown in my city because they have 7 for all Mankind, Michael Kors, etc.

I saw these BCBG wedges for $35 & I figured that they would be the perfect addition to my collection. They have leather straps & sole & are so comfortable. Since they have a goldish bronze trim, they go perfectly with my MK bag. They're also great with anything- shorts, jeans, dresses, you name it.

Lookbook: Daytime Smoky Eyes

Urban Decay, I love you.

For work today I figured I would go the whole nine & spring for eyeshadow. My face has the usual, MAC Studio Fix Pressed Powder in NW 45 & lips are Maybelline (the Moisture lipstick) in Barely There, with the shine provided by Victoria's Secret. Eyebrow (that I have to draw in) Pencil from Black Radiance.

The eyes.
The Urban Decay palette I bought is my playground. I decided to go for the simple smoky eye but to lighten it up for the sake of daytime. Blending & applying a light silver to it after I finished with the initial application transformed this sex kitten night shadow into a daytime friendly option.

Lookbook: Lipstain Virgin.

I have really been interested in red lips ever since Halloween. I wanted a darker red this time & I admit, a certain Drew Barrymore CoverGirl ad appealed to my consumer's appetite & peaked my curiousity. I figured a lipstain was subtle enough to wear a red without it looking like costume or nightwear. I chose the darkest shade because let's be honest, my skin fools color. It makes it challenging but I've understood to go a couple of shades darker than the color I initially liked. I chose to wear full black as it reminded me of

Wearing.
It has to be applied to bone dry lips. Even lip balm will prevent the stain. I found that one of the downsides to the long lasting color is the unending dryness. Nothing would help when applied on top since the stain was directly in contact with my lips. Having said that, the color was amazing and lasted all day with probably two applications after meals. It was pretty stubborn en I tried to remove it too. All in all, I will find a way to enjoy staining mefre woman sitting at a cafe by the watereventually.

iMade this: Indian Brave

Kickball as afore mentioned has called for some pretty wacky things & cowboys& indians night was no exception. I decided to be an indian so rummaging through my bathroom produced 2 red headbands 2 white headbands & some hair extentions. I braided two pigtails and put the red headbands around my forehead (which left a nasty mark by the end of the night). White headbands around the pigtails, reminescent of Tiger Lily. Then I decided to pick up some feathers from Party City & stuck them in the side of the headbands & voila, ready for my game that evening.

Lookbook: Natural

Natural Look- Nude lip with minimal color on the eye

I decided that I am going to go for a more natural look today.

I went with all the bronze & browns in my Urban Decay: Book of Shadows III palette with medium green for the crease. The browline was dusted with a gold colour with flecks of glitter in it- also Urban Decay.
Also used Urban Decay's black eyeliner that came in the Book of Shadows.
Mascara used is one of my favorites- Smashbox LashDNA.

The lips are actually Infallible by Lo'real. I own a red lipcolour by them as well & am very impressed with how long this stays applied to lips, even though it doesn't stay put the entire six hours as advertised.

My face has 2 coats of MAC StudioFix pressed powder- one applied with sponge & the next applied with a brush.

Rant: Toe Cleavage

Toe cleavage is so sexy. End of discussion.
Pumps with the right amount up the sexiness level like 5 notches.

OOTD: All I need is my biker bitch jacket.

First of all, let me start by saying these are the shoes from hell.
If you recall watching poor Cinderella's stepsisters fit on the glass slipper in the Disney version of this classic, you'll remember one's foot being too long as the other one's foot was far too wide to fit the opportunistic shoe. I am the former when it comes to these.

Women in general will push it to the limit for beauty, hence the phrase, here meaning literally, "beauty is pain". Being 1/2 a size too small- my regular 6's must bend their will to these 5.5 sized Charlotte Russe pumps. Having said that, they are hot as hell & I literally walk on coals to look amazing in these shoes.

My top is manufactured by a company named Blac Label... they make the most amazing tanks that I have ever come across. They are far more classy than Ed Hardy's as these use heavy duty material, grommets, & the designs are far more tattoo-inspired, as to the fact that they are depicted as body art. Throwing a leather over this shirt tends to scream "I own a Harley Davidson, bitch!"

The pants were acquired from Hot Topic on clearance, the time when I take the store for all it's worth. I've gotten such good deals from that store that I almost feel bad when at the register. Key word- ALMOST.

Last but not least, I'm pretty sure the finishing touch involved the presence of a studded two-tier watch from Target, that they practically gave away at a low 6$ plus tax.

I love this look as it is definetly one of my favorites. Hell, everything I've ever gotten from Blac Label is.

OOTD: Converse does more than casual.

As you know, I am usually incredibly pleased with Target and what they have to offer as far as clothing selection goes. Mossimo usually hits the nail on the head & is a respectable store brand- respectable meaning I would wear 90% of the things they put on the market. Another thing that enthralls me about their juniors section is the international design section- a two rack wonder that has somewhat affordable articles. This usually includes a couple of tops, a selection between either a skirt, shorts, or pants & at least one dress. This is not the case with my sweater though. Target also houses other brands on a regular basis, Converse being one of them. And to my surprise, they make more than just sneakers. I have a Target card so while shopping one day, I figured I would go into the office that afternoon & was tired of buying a new top every single time I went in on my day off. My Miami uniform of a tank top & jeans doesn't cut it when you work in a corporate office. The solution to my weekly problem was clear- purchase something that I could throw over a tank to make it office appropriate so that I can work whenever I please.

I found this. While it wasn't in my ideal budget, I figured what the hell, I have a Target card & I'm glad I went with that instinct. I have gotten a LOT of compliments on it & I love wearing it too. It's as comfy as it is gorgeous.

Lookbook: My night as a clown

Let me start by saying I am totally scared of clowns. So you can imagine my surprise when our kickball captain suggested that for our theme one Monday.
How does one create a clown w/o stage makeup? I went Urban Decay crazy on my face. I applied the silver eyeshadow with a blush brush to make the white face. I applied a candy colored palette on my eyelids & exaggerated my eyebrows. Last but not least, I used eyeshadow creme stick for the cheeks & voila!

OOTD: Normally, I don't do farmer shirts, but...

I saw this shirt in the clearance in Hot Topic & decided that if I was going to wear a farmer shirt, I might as well buy one with my two favorite colors.

I also decided to wear it with these heels because I thought it would be a nice change from boots.

Top.
Hot Topic.

Jeans.

OOTD: Military Jacket... Some say Beatles.

I am forever going into Hot Topic to try to score clothing & accessories on extreme clearance as it is one of my favorite apparel stores & has some pretty kickass merchandise. One of their stores in my area, one that I frequented, closed & they emailed all of the Regulars with a 10$ off a purchase of 25$. (This is the part where I glance at the screen with a knowing yet mischevious look while the live studio audience laughs on cue.)

I would not pass up any coupon or sale opportunity in Hot Topic. I swear it's a sickness.

Anyhow, I decided that I would try to get some items to add to my respectable work wardrobe & made a beeline for the clearance section so that I could get the most bang for my buck. Lo & behold, the first thing on the rack was this jacket. Since I have a leather already (I was dying for one) the next item on my list was a military styled jacket. I fit it on for the hell of it & loved the way that it looked with the jeans I was wearing. (Also pictured here) This jacket was a gift from the gods! More of a right place, right time scenario. Everyone at work loved it & the only thing I can say negatively is that once your wardrobe has a piece like this, you can't wear it all the time with the same exact outfit. My favorite thing about this jacket is that the colors are somewhat reversed with the lightest color (which is usually the detail) is the solid khaki of the actual jacket & the darker color is used in the detailing instead. The material is incredibly durable so I know that I will have this jacket for a pretty long time.

OOTD: Rugged weekend wear

This outfit is one that I break out separately but never together. Its one of my power outfits if you will & by far one of my favorites. One of the reasons is because the top was purchased from one of my favorite stores- a boutique named Up Against the Wall that was closed quite some time ago. I loved to shop there because you could always find something that was worth buying- something with edge & attitude. This store was the embodiment of everything I enjoyed when it came to clothing & decor. Even shopping there was an experience in itself. there were funky lamps, eccentric lighting & murals and the fitting rooms were graffitied in the likeness of an inner city building that had become the canvas for a spraypaint happy artist. To my good fortune, there were two malls in my area that had these boutiques but sadly, they closed about two years ago which reminds me, I should hunt online to see if any of them are still in existence. I'm hoping with all my might that this storeline wasn't just local.

The brand of this tank is Black Label. I have three tanks from them (one of which went ghost on me.... I need to find it) & the material used is not only quality, but the design is wunique as well. Grommets & tattoo designs are not usually elements that I rave about, but the way things have been arranged- in a subtle yet edgy way- I definetly think it leans more to the rock side & less to the fist pumping, Ed Hardy clad, guido side.

These are my first pair of ripped jeans. I got them on special from PacSun & decided (contrary to my earlier thoughts against purchasing something destroyed prior to wearing it) that I would buy them & watch them evolve. It got me thinking about all the clothing I've ever altered & how I morphed them into something else & I loved being able to recycle my clothing- in a manner of speaking.

OOTD: Planning for a night on the town

I work until 12 midnight on Saturday & Sunday evenings, so if I am going to go clubbing, I wear the outfit to my job. This particular day I decided to swing by my apt & do my makeup there. I finished & sat down on the couch to watch a little TV while I waited for my friend to let me know she was ready. I closed my eyes & when I opened them it was 5:30am (fml). Anyway, I photogged my efforts.

OOTD: Happy Hour awaits

Picking up stuff on the fly is my middle name. Sometimes I'm out & about, and I run out of time before I have to go to work & end up swinging by a store to get something a little more work appropriate. I did that but of course, this was the day I picked my puppy, Rico up from Miami Animal Services.

I went by Target & saw these shirts for a pretty inexpensive price so I picked up two of them. The way the sleeves are interwoven like a basket really caught me & the burnt orange color was striking as well.

OOTD: Elegance for a funeral.

My grandmother passed away & her funeral is this Saturday. Its going to be held in Jamaica so I needed something cool, sleeveless but at the same time, sophisticated as I'm meeting some of my family members for the first time.
I purchased this dress at Ross, where I have obviously purchased a vast amount of my wardrobe from that store. My mom told me that in Jamaica, you can wear black, white or purple to funerals, so I settled on black & white as I have a pair of Nine West pumps that are ivory & black that I'd love to wear with my outfit. I saw this dress & the white stitching was what sold me on it. Will upload pics in it when I wear it.

Ridiculous Deal: Steve Madden strikes again

Daisy duke. That's the first thing I thought upon beholding this lovely pair. I found these beauties in none other than Ross. I originally went in to buy a pair of shorts but figured 'hey let me look through the shoes, that's always fun' & I came across these.

Steve Madden Platforms

They're on a wood sole with leather straps & reminds me of the way a clog. The leather straps interlace & crisscross in the front, winding around the back of the heel. They're also ridiculously comfortable as they have a platform heel. They're about 5" high. Can't wait to see what outfits surface with these wonderful shoes.

Rant: Heels.

Lately, I've really gotten into high heels. Like towering ones- 2" plus. Its been fun to put outfits on that I wore with flats, sandals or boots & see the difference. I went to the 3.99$ shoe store because since Miami is North Cuba, they've brought many things to this city. Forcing everyone to learn Spanish, tipping the scale to the Republican side & talking over all the radio stations are some pretty good ones. BUT, they brought some good things too, and the 3.99$ shoe store is one of them.
I went there with a coworker bc we were on break & 2 pairs screamed at me & I figure, what the hell, I might as well. So keep an eye out for them, they're coming soon to this Blog.

OOTD: When leather meets pumps

Is there a reason that I look like a biker bitch in this picture? Like don't get me wrong, I absolutely love looking like a badass and this outfit screams it.
And the weekend before, I was in Orlando freezing my ass off. 45-55 degree weather can be brutal for a Miami girl especially if your sister is being a bitch and takes the only warm jacket that you brought because it happens to belong to her. It worked out because I ran into Ross at 8:45 & walked out with this bomber jacket at 9:10. It has turned out to be the perfect missing part of my wardrobe. I've put it with so many past outfits that now look completely different. Then you throw in those badass heels & its the perfect recipe.

OOTD: Its 50 degrees in Orlando so its ok to look cool.

My cousin's birthday was spent in a trampoline room. If you've never been to one, very cool, you should definetly put that on your list of things to do before you die.
I had to wear something comfortable but knew that we were gonna take pictures so I wanted to look cute. I pack by throwing a crapload of stuff into my car & driving the 3 hrs to Orlando so I had quite a few things to pick from and came out with the quintessential Hot Topic outfit. As you know, I kill it when they do their 50% off clearance simply because I'm a G and I can.

OOTD: Making this difficult shirt work

I posted when I bought this shirt. After that it has seriously been a challenge since I bought it. I've picked it up several times to wear it and gave up in frustration. It was a while since I've worn this top. I recently scored some jeans from PacSun on a 2 for 1 special as I found some pairs of jeans that I do not own already. The indigo color really offset the while so I figured, let me just tuck it in and not change my mind today. It worked. The cut of my jeans fit really well when I tucked the tunic in. I took a picture from the back so that you can see the cut with the zipper (my favorite part of this top).

OOTD: Dressing up a T-shirt

Let me start by saying that I've had this shirt for years. Its actually a little too big now that I lost weight but I still love the way the gold letters shine against the black background. I wanted to wear something casual enough because I drive the company vehicle for my job & when doing fieldwork, I don't exactly need the fanciest clothing.
I decided to pair the tee with a cardigan, this way I could strip the cardigan in the field, if need be. Then I figured that I could wear heels so that the "dressy" look is reinforced.
Cardigan.
Mossimo for Target. Thin enough to wear in hot Miami weather.
Tshirt.
5.7.9- does that place still exist? I can't find any of them in Miami anymore.
Belt.
Michael Kors. (by way of Saks) worn on the silver snakeskin side.
Jeans.
PacSun- totally on a 2 for 1 special. They look dirty which I love to pair with black clothing.
Shoes.
Steve Madden (by way of Macy's) these are in the runnings for my favorite heels.

OOTD: Seaching for job #2's holiday party dress.

With my shopping endeavor to find something to wear to my office party, I had quite a dilemma on my hands. Just a quick background for you, I am one of the hottest girls at the hotel I work at. If this was high school, I'd be voted best dressed. People I work with are always complementing my fashion sense & they told me that they were waiting to see what I'd wear to this party. There are some trolls that I work with as well & they have perfected the art of hating, so you know I had to outdo them. I was left with the challenge of finding something that was unique & equally stunning.

I found a couple of dresses, especially from Jessica McClintock's collection (which costs my firstborn child) & was dismayed by a couple of sorry excuses for frocks- ones I wouldn't wear if someone simply handed them to me free of charge. At the first attempt, I found this great dress (the one I ended up purchasing) purple, satin fabric, with a one shouldered style (spaghetti strap on the opposite shoulder) and the one shoulder had a pleating detail both there and on the skirt. I'll upload more pictures as I get to a computer of me in the Jessica McClintock dresses, (yes I photograph everything, circa Cher in Clueless) especially the one that stole my heart as I looked at it on display. I am thoroughly convinced- Macy's planned to take my soul & their approach was flawless. The hunt was only extended to Macy's since I needed to use my Macy's card to purchase. This dress deserves an adequate description since at $189 USD, it was absolutely stunning. A one shouldered, metallic a-line cocktail dress with somewhat of a floral garland on said one shoulder. Everything in me "buy it" but my wallet screamed "don't kill me". When I came back down to reality, I realized that the purple dress was not only elegant but semi- affordable at $80 USD & this was what I debuted.

iWant: Next on my hitlist. Pump it up.

Pumps. Bakers.
I saw these when shopping for my office Christmas party & yes, I had to blog about them. I mean they totally warrant a blog in their honor. They are so effing classy & edgy at the same time. I was actually walking by Bakers & happened to look in the window & on the mannequin's feet, I saw them, looking hot as ever. They served their purpose & drew me into the store. When I fit them on they were actually comfortable (without the Dr Scholls insoles that usually save me) & the price was a bit heinous (a whopping 80 USD) but they were versatile enough to be worn many times. The finish on the shoe is a fushia suede & the thing that caught me was the cut of the front of the shoe. Just sexy. This its definetly next on my hitlist.
