Better Than Sex Mascara

This is the first mascara since Smashbox''s Lash DNA that I've actually felt like it could replace it. This is huge. I've been searching for a replacement since SmashBox makde the horrible decision to discontinue it.

That's what you call a pretty great mascara brush.

The brush is a lovely hybrid between the hourglass that I admired so much in Lash DNA and the traditional spiral that every other company feels the need to make. I pride myself on having real eyelashes that are so long that they look fake. This mascara does just that. I do use primer with it but it's just as good alone. This is an excellent product.

Verdict: Stop what you're doing, get in your car, drive to Sephora or Ulta, run to to Too Faced aisle, take it to the cashier and make it rain. This product needs to be in your makeup box. Today.

Perfect Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner in  Perfect Black
This liner is super bold which is awesome but doesn't stay put as well as I'd like. I'm used to waterproof liner being applied  and lasting till it is removed from your face. This tends to smudge. I'm not too fond of that because as bad as it sounds the 'tattoo' aspect of waterproof eyeliners is why I use them.

Verdict: Fantastic if you want the drama of bold eyeliner- this is one of the boldest that I've used (including MAC) but don't expect it to stick around.

I'd rather the SmashBox Limitless Eyeliner in Onyx. It's bold and stays put. (FYI it is waterproof so if you hate that, don't bother. )

#Rant: Joggers, harem pants

I'm going to take the hipster approach by saying that I wore these before they were cool but before I do, I want to say how confused I am by the "sweatpant" option of wearing it to formal events.

Shoes
I'm also not really on board for wearing this with open toed shoes. I usually pair my harem pants (Guess @ Macy's, $17) with closed toed wedge pumps or flats in true Princess Jasmine fashion. I also avoid pointy shoes as I feel as if they're overkill.

Tops
I usually pair with a scoop necked tee or tank or a plain blouse with no buttons. I usually want them to be the feature.

I'll upload some pictures soon from back in the day when I wore mine.

#Rant: Forever XXI v. H&M

I went in Forever XXI yesterday and was intrigued by the similarities to H&M. My local mall will literally have them head to head when the H&M finally opens- right across the hall from a bigger better Forever XXI that opened within the month.

Basics Section.
I know Forever XXI has always had basics but they've actually sectioned them off and are really pushing the prices lower than they've ever been. #ftw

Saw a lot of these on Black Friday in H&M.

Workout/Activewear Section
(not shown)
I believe H&M has had their own section for a while. It's nice to see Forever XXI shedding light in all aspects of life.

#Rant: Neonineties Revolution Deux

And I predicted some of these things a couple of months ago.

Returning trends:
Crushed velvet

Fake flowers

Fat headbands

Chokers

Among others. It was just nice seeing this come into friuition.

I also saw someone wearing a silk shirt tied around their waist. (Guy)

I'm good. I really need to make those sunflower jeans before they come back in style.

French Mini-Makeover: 14 Must See Updated Versions from Pinterest

Black tips
One of my favorites since I think anything in the inverse is sexy.

OmbrƩ Glitter
This is pretty awesome too. Would probably try a matte topcoat on top of this to tone it down for work.

Tie-Dye
How to: they used a toothpick to drag pastels dotted on to create a marbled effect.

Sequins
Whoa, this person put each one of these sequins on with a toothpick. I would've shot myself. Looks really cute but I'm not sure that it's worth the effort.

Colorful tips
Can I just say that I love the base coat on these nails? It's the perfect nude!

Grey base
Not a fan. I would probably try this with black and maybe a white strip?

White/color tips
I usually don't like the super colorful skittles effect but the white strip gives them an aire of professionality.

Metallic Shimmer Strip
Two words: Christmas, nails. I couldn't see myself seriously wearing this on a regular day throughout the year.

Gold Studs
I. Love. This. #ijustdied Definitely trying this. It's perfect.

Two toned scalloping
These nails look like my alma mater lol. I would've like to see this backwards with the blue on the inside.

Color Crazy
I cannot. Honestly I can't. I don't know how these made their way on the list. They're ghastly.

Polka Dots
Adorably cute. I would definitely try this! And would also try it with a black background as well.

Bows
I cannot state how yucky I think this is. The airbrushed bow is so tacky to me. Who still airbrushes?

Sparkling Silver Strip
Ok I like this so much. It's a subtle way to bring a little sparkle and color in without overwhelming people.

#imadethis: tablet cover

So everyone I know knows me for being pretty crafty. I bought a Microsoft Surface on Black Friday and was bursting my brain trying to figure out how I'd find a cute enough case when it occurred to me that I was simply going to make and modify my own.

I wanted to make this as personal as possible so I wrote words that described me- present and future. It's pretty symbolic. Instead of using a journal like I did last time, I resorted to a simpler alternative- paint pens. The pack I bought brings five colors that I'm pretty certain I'll be using on other projects.

The only thing pending is to scotch-guard the cover so the lettering doesn't fade.
